Work: private collections. As a child, Alvin
Brown was afflicted with polio and took up drawing and
painting during his rehabilitation, eventually creating well over
100 works in various media. Collaborated with Harrison
Cady, when Brown was a student, on a series of charcoal
drawings illustrating stories written by Thornton Burgess.
Served as Rockport, MA Town Clerk and continued to paint throughout his lifetime,
inspired by the beauty of his native Cape Ann.
